CHOICEes help out at St.Anne's Feast

St. Anne's Feast started on the 23rd of July and will continue to the 1st of Aug.

Since day one, St. Anne's Church parish has been providing free food and drinks to all devotees, pilgrims, parishioners and visitors. As long as there's masses/novena's being held in the church, there'll be food available for all.

I'm glad to report that a few of our CHOICEes have been helping out at the stalls. They helped the organisers serve the food and drinks and sell ice-cream. They also helped around the stalls making sure that there's enough fork and spoons, plates...etc. I've also heard that they have met a CHOICEe from Perak from Perak Weekend #1!! Wow! That's nice.

The feast is still going on, and the organisers are still looking for volunteers. So if you're free and want to join in the fun, come and meet them at St. Anne's Church and I'm sure they'll be glad to accept your help.

God Bless You.

M.A.D Project - AIDS Centre, BM

Does CHOICE have a stuntman? hehehe not exactly. This fellow CHOICEe is just helping out to clean the windows at St . Joachim's AIDS Centre in BM on the 27th June. This M.A.D Project was organised by CEPG #55 and it was a day at the centre. We help cleaned the house, the windows, put up curtains and even played some board games with the patients. We also contributed some food stuff and daily essentials to the centre. Hope it will help them for the time being.
after all the hard work in helping to clean the centre, we had a lil fellowship with the patients. the iron lady of this centre also gave us a brief introduction of what AIDS is and assured us that we do not need to be afraid of them as they are just like any of us.
of course before we said our goodbyes, we managed to get a group pic!

CEPG #55

CHOICE English Penang Weekend #55 was held at St. Anne's Domus, BM from the 7th - 9th of May. There were 26 participants, some came from Ipoh, Kulim and even from as far from China (he's originally from Sibu). We also had 10 presenters where one came from KL. So it was a good mix :)

I believe everyone had a great experience, not only for the participants and presenters, even the service team too! Thank You all for saying YES! to CHOICE.

M.A.D Project - Shan Children's Home, Penang

In January, CEPG #54 organised a trip to Shan Children's Home for their MAD Project. It was quite a good turn out as even friends and family of the CHOICEes joined in. We went to the home bringin lunch and I'm sure the kids were delighted with it, different from what they usually have. They even had the privilage of being served by us :)

Once everyone was full with the lovely food, we then had a Charade game. CHOICEes and kids played together and had a really good time with lots of laughter! Then next was the musical chairs. This game, the kids were the pros! they even fought the chairs with the adults! they don't give any mercy! :D And to cool down after all that excitement, we headed indoors for a sing-a-long session with our songstress - lovely voice.
The day spent with the kids was just lovely, simple yet meaningful to the kids as well. Contributions of school equipment and dried food were given as well. Of course it all ended with a (crazy) group picture!

Care to SMASH?

So some CHOICEes (as friends) decided to join an Inter Parish Badminton Tornament. Though the group was small, they tried getting some other friends to join them, who knew, practically ALL (maybe except for 1 or 2) were CHOICEes! :D
Practise soon started, and they were training to at least be in the finals... eventually the tornament day came and all were pumped up!
Wonder how they made it?

ah hah!! they came in 2nd place! not to shabby I'd say! So eventhough they didn't win 1st prize, I think it's more of the fun they had playing together, the game itself and just being with friends that really matters. so, not training for next year? :D
